Yep, get a bit more experience with a company first. Judging by your other post it seems you dont have basic fault finding experience (not meaning to bag you, just an observation).

Would be beneficial to do a bit of service work for a while. This will get you used to working with a wide variety of panels and coming across a wide range of faults and the best ways to overcome them.

    Cool

I'm not sure I want to go into this topic again after all the shit hurled my way last time. But here we go . First of all as soon as possible get & do your own work. If you subbie you will always be blamed for taking too long , charging too much , not doing a good enough job , supplying missing items from your own stock at cost , using sub standard components , global warming & abspestos. Everything that goes wrong will be your fault. Get your own work , treat them right , do it better than the others & all will be good.

I was working as a subbie for 15 years, now work for wages(yipee!)
Yeah saturdays, turns into sundays = no free time = sad!
There are pros and cons for both sides, depends on your knowledge, commitment and finances.
You are the only one that can make that decision, we can all add our bit, but at the end of the day, it's your career.
Are you confident at installing a panel?
Are you confident to work on most panels?,
    Do you understand phone connections?
Are you financial enough to support the buisness through the lean times?
Do you have the basic drive to get out of bed every morning with out a boss over your shoulder?
Do you have good communication skills to deal with not only the good but the difficult clients?

The list goes on, and when working for other companies these aren't usually a problem, but when it's only you....

I enjoyed my sole trader existence, but now i sit back and enjoy my paid holidays!
