    Default Help: ADT DSC 1565

I just bought our new home and the last owner didn't leave any code for the existing ADT DSC 1565 security system.

It was in 'ready' mode having only fire alarm on previously, but I accidently turned it on by trying a code #8 5555 from somewhere of internet. Since then this monster keep roaring and I have no idea how to disable it. The last thing I've done is unpluging the wire (power) and remove the battery from the metal box in build-in.

Anyone here knows how to reset it to local siren... I am desperated to find back its code and don't know if it is worthy to pay someone from ADT to fix (account has been cancelled ages ago and the helpdesk rudely decline to help any further)

    Definitely not worth calling ADT,
Any alarm technician should be able to help you (and charge a lot less).
If this is the first time you have used this kind of system, then I would suggest you do just that. Have a qualified tech come and instruct you how to use it properly and have him replace the battery and give the system a checkup while he is there.
These system are easy to use and are fairly relaible once you know what you are doing.
Maybe you could post what area you live in, thats a good place to start.

looks like you went in programing with that code and may have possibly messed up the programming if you were pressing random numbers.

will need defaulting and reprograming. (unless its installer locked)

guys thanks for reply. It sounds I might have triggered the programming mode and keyed in some code not reversible. Will try a local tech this weekend and I am in Dundas area.
BTW just curious does this mean 5555 is the correct master code? and remove battery/power won't default the panel?

    Cool

5555 is the factory default programming code. All programmed parameters (except time/date) will be retained if power is removed. If you are getting a tech to look at it make sure he defaults the whole system to factory (you never know what garbage may have been put in previously) and make sure either you nominate the programming code or he lets you know what he programs it as.

    Wakey, wakey Zademan..
If he's used the default installer code to access programming then its obviously not locked (unless by some absolute fluke that is a programming feature that he accidentally changed)

eeekk be careful your post insinuates that the alarm company in question are not qualified, when thats not the case!

i have no idea what he has done to the alarm, but i dont really think he went into programing with #8 as it requires *8 to enter program and adt nearly allways change the default tech codes.

best thing to do is a full default to factory settings, but some subbies for adt had a habit of intaller locking the pc1565 panels.
have come across about a dozen so far, where the s\c of pgm1 and z1 clutters the relay and wont default the system.

so in brackets (unless its installer locked) im only covering myself for the 5% possibility.

    Not suggesting that at all.
I have worked with many "ADT" technicians and generally found them to be knowledgeable in their specific area.
I was merely suggesting that if he was trying to save on the cost of having to call in a technician then there are many, many techs out there who are just as capable but charge a lot less than a foreign owned multinational corporation would. JMO
