Perhaps someone needs to Email Floydie and Deano to break out their circuits once again, just in case they have to re-start.
Looks like UTC, owners of Chubb, Lenel and Kidde as well as such diverse companies as Carrier Air Conditioning, Otis Elevators, Sikorsky Helicopters, Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines, and a bunch of other disparate technology companies have agreed to buy GE security for US$1.82 billion.
UTC will be primarily interested in the US market, so I wonder what'll happen to Tecom. Having worked for a company (Boral Elevators) that got bought out then shut down by this multinational behemoth, I don't hold out too much hope. I guess that would be provide an opportunity for local companies.

good!
couldn't have got any worse, for tecom.
being left in the wake of concept and carddax, maybe the new owners will do some r & d, something they haven't done for ten years.
ethernet lan would be nice.
It will be interesting to see if they make any changes to who distributes the products here also.

interesting
The other question to ask is that if UTC now owns GE Security will UTC allow
their other company Chubb to go back to using Challengers or will they still
be forced to use the AFx panel & if allowed to use Challengers & all the other
GE Security parts will they be supplied directly ????
