When u go into the 4DC menu on the codepad (19,28) what IUM is the system seeing?
SIM MIUM LIUM ?
I have 4 X 4DC that were installed by another company but were offline since. Now the customer wants to bring them back online. That was suppose to be the simplest thing to do given all installations and wirings were already done.
BUT not so, 2 of the 4DC were reading Raw card data, which is right, but the other 2 were reading 26 Bit Wiegand. All 4DCs were wired and programmed in the same way and have IUMs.
DAS said to check:
1. Magswipe link is OFF -done
2. Ensure D+ and D- are correct - done
3. Hard default the 4DC - done.
Still the same.
Any suggestions?

Is there a menu in 19,28 that shows what the 4DC is seeing its memory? Which sub-menu is that?
Yep, 19 then 28 then go into the address of that DGP (4DC)
and there is a menu (IUM) or similar and it will show SIUM MIUM or LIUM
First thing I would check is to make sure that you've programmed them all the same, create a new client under (titan etc) the panel and do a full upload, check the door controllers there, make sure that they are sequentially numbered, and nothing is doubled up, default your four door (you mentioed earlier), and download the entire program back into the system, one thing to check would be to make sure the door are programmed correctly (Check menu 19-28-1 for DGP), check to make sure that menu 19-4- that the DGP's are polled and they are set for four door controller.
Another thing to check is to make sure that the units are all running RECENT firmware, had one company a while back, wont mention any names, spend a week trying to figure out a problem with iums, found out later that they didnt upgrade the firmware on the four doors, it was a 98 firmware release...
Happy hunting
Yeah, and when you do the download, dont do it from titan.
perform the download from the codepad and watch it go through
The 4DC thats not working has a 99 firmware. I checked with GE, they said its OK with IUM. Maybe I should change the firmware?
try defaulting the door controllers first and downloading the data back into them. You'll probably find your problem will go away pretty quickly after doing this.
I have found using this method will fix most issues like your talking about.
forget it, just re read your psot. i do agree with Keef though do the download form the codepad.
Did you check via the 19,28 menu that the 4DC is recognising the IUM as the correct type/
Not yet, returning later today with some 4DC firmware. Yes i had hard-defaulted the panel and done the upload/download via the codepad the last time, but did not work.
