Default Bosch EDM Solution 862 problem

    Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me with my problem. I have a Solution 862 alarm system in the house that I bought recently. I've never had an alarm system before, so am new to all this.

I was in the ceiling trying to fix a problem with my hot water system. I saw the box which I now know to be the control box for the Solution 862. Stupid me, I thought it may have something to do with the solar hot water system.

So I took the screws out, started to crack open the lid and the alarm went off. The wife tried to press the disarm code into the panel downstairs. But it didn't seem to work, no sound registering from the button presses.

Maybe the alarm stopped by itself or we pressed something, but the sound is now off - after about 5 minutes. However the outside light is still flashing, and the control pad still doesn't seem to be responding to inputs.

It is showing the 3 areas on the left side of the pad, and the number 8 on the right hand side of the pad.

    Any ideas?

What do you mean by "the three areas on the left" ?
The 8 will almost certainly be the box tamper whch you activated when you opened it. 8 will flash if it has caused the alarm to go off & stay on while ever the panel is open. The sirens have timed out after 5 minutes but the strobe will keep flashing until a code is used to dis arm the panel (or 12 hrs) The first thing to do is get a valid user code.

Sorry, need to be more clear. I've been feverishly reading up on the user manuals, so hopefully this will make a little more sense now:

There were 4 areas flashing to say that they were insecure - 1,2,3 and 8. Additionally the OFF was flashing very quickly. There was no indication for away or inside. The power cord also was solid.

I put the only user code I know in there. I received a double beep indication that it was accepted. All 4 areas stopped flashing. The strobe did not stop. Then the Away and Stay indicators started flashing simultaneously. The manual says this will happen when it is in a programmable state. I stopped there as I do not know how to proceed. Scared of setting it off again.

If I leave it until morning, will the strobe stop by itself? Will I need to do anything additional to stop the alarm starting again?

    thanks!

Before you do anything else go & put in 960"away" The code you have is the programming code & if you do anything wrong wandering around in programming you will probably have to default the panel & program it from scratch. Give me a PM & I'll guide you through getting the user code that is programmed in it. Where are you located

Okay I did that and the panel returned to the same display as when the alarm first went off. The same as I detailed in my last post.

    I've sent you a PM.
