Question Solution 6+6 : How to link to a handheld transmitter?

    Hi,

I inherited a EDM Solution 6+6 Alarm System, which I only have the online operator online manual. From the manual, it mentioned that with a radio remote control, I can control the general operation from a portable handheld transmitter. May I know how to do it? How can I check if I have the radio remote control installed?

    Thanks in advance....

    Cool

A 6+6 is getting pretty old , only ever seen one or two of them. I'm not even sure what radio gear was used on them but if you aint got an antenna stcking out of the box then you probably aint got a wireless receiver wired up. In that case you could get a generic w/less keyfob & Rx & wire it up to a zone that will then be programmed for keyswitch arming. But for a little bit more you could get the whole panel upgraded with remotes & warranty.

There were TWO, the 6+6 and the 6+6 Wireless ON/OFF panels with the latter having the ability to add a a Solution Wireless ON/OF Interface allowing users 9 to 16 to be prorammed for remote arming with remote TX fobs.

Both panels have the ability to use a spare zone for a key switch Zone and thus use any remote kit with a realy to operate the Keyswitch input.
However all this requires an installer maunal and programming so ring around and see if there is anyone local to do this for you.

Eventhough the panel may be quite a few years old they are very reliable as most panels once installed correctly, tested regularly and serviced.

So Ron what radio gear did they use ? I don't suppose the WE800 would work on them ( or maybe the RE005 )

One good thing about Bosh is that they sypply a Quick Reference Guide for solution series panels and these are carried by all good service technicians.

The answer is within this maunal using a Solution Wireless ON/OFF interface or the WE801. Sorry but never been a fan of the solution panels for reasons I will keep to myself for time being.
