    Default Bosch 16+ - Part 1,2, Bypass and Area's

    Hi,

Any guru's out there care to explain the differences between Part1, Part2, Bypass and Area arming?

On my system, I have split up my 12 zone's into 3 area's. ie, front of the house, middle, and kids bedrooms. These are then displayed on the keypad and using the left and right buttons to toggle between the 3 areas. I can also arm and disarm the area's depending on which "area page" toggle I am on. But the Part/Bypass button is whats confusing me.. Why is it there? Is the Part button exactly the same as the middle button on my bosch keyfob remote?

    thanks

Area arming arms all zones in the area

Part 1 and Part 2 are set up differently so you can have 2 partially armed sections in each area - In your situation Part 1 could be the reed switches around the house and Part 2 could be the reed switches and the garage PIR or shed out the back. So you would use Part 1 when you are at home and awake, but change it to Part 2 when you go to bed for added protection.

Bypass means you have to manually bypass a detector if you do not want it to work. Say the cat has been left in the laundry for some reason and you don't want the PIR in there to work, you the bypass the laundry PIR and arm the area as normal.

Area Arming, Part 1 and Part2, all sound like the same thing, but with a different preference naming..
