    Default Solution 16 info

    Hi
currently setting up my cc880 solution 16 after defaulting system to factory specs.
System was installed back in 1996 and installers code was unknown hence reason to default.
There are two smoke alarms wired in to zone 7 and 8 and i have set zone type to 13.
manual says siren/strobe screamer will activate with different tone.
    dosent say anything about dialler.
can i set this up to activate the dialler as well say with a zone 0 or something.
    Cheers from a newbie.

The dialler will act as normal with a fire zone.

If you are being monitored the CMS will get a fire report.

    Cheers mate
    Just one other newbie question.
Zone 1 has an orange wire with resistor on the end connected with the pir for wireless duress.
Also Zone 8 has the tamper switch wired in with smoke detector.
So Zone 9 is duress and Zone 16 tamper.
Should i set Zone type to 24 hour burglary for these two as they are currently default settings.
I have the panel leds for zone 1 and 8 constantly on and the pir and smoke alarm do not work unless i disconnect the duress and tamper wires.
I have a master partioned codepad and the whole thing was wired up by a licensed installer about 15yrs ago.
I am in a country area and it has been a hassle trying to get someone to come out and have a look so thats the reason i am having a go at setting back up myself.

    Cool

Take off the zone 9 & 16 i/ps on the PCB & see that zone 1 & 8 behaving as they should. It sounds like you have the wrong resistors in zone 9 & 16.

    Thanks Watchdog
I am away at work at the moment, so wont be home for another week.
The thing is i havent changed or altered any of the connections as system worked fine before a defaulted it.
So it must be a software configuration issue that i need to set up correctly i would have thought.

    Cool

If you have defaulted it then the EOL setting has gone back to a 4 ( 8 zone using 3k3 resistors ) You will need to go to location 339 & set it to 15 ( split EOL 3k3/6k8) This enables it as a 16 zone panel using 3k3 resistors for the first 8 zones & 6k8 resistors for zone 9 - 16. By reverting back to an 8 zone configuration zone 1 is seeing its 3k3 resistor in parallel with 6k8 (zone 9) giving 2k2 & causing it to show as unsealed. The same for Z8 & 16 .

    No worries watchdog
thats sounds like the problem i will check the resistor that is in parallel for the tamper and duress and set location 339 to 15 when i get home.
Learning more as i go along.
    Cheers.
