Exclamation Change volume of Siren Keyfob Arm/Disarm Only (Not ALARM Siren Volume) - Solution 16+

    Hi Guys,

Have the Solution 16+ hooked up and running great.
Setup with Wireless Reeds/ PIRS all through the house.

    Also have setup the wireless Keyfob, but here's my problem;
When Arming/Disarming the thing is so bl**dy loud!!

I know how to adjust the Siren Volume and Speed e.t.c, however this changes the Siren volume completely I.E - When alarm is triggered.

Is there a way to change the Siren Volume in respect to only when Arming/Disarming via Keyfob (remote)? If i lower the Siren volume, then it defeats the purpose of the Siren as it cannot be heard very far away.

    This has been killing me..

The only solution i've found so far is to disarm the Siren Beep for Remote Arm and just leave the Flash from the Siren. But at night time this is very bright and the Disarm function flashes for a good 5-8 secs.

    Any help/advice appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Cool

Well you can on most of the other Bosch panels so I would assume you could pn the 16+ ( I've never needed to do it ) Having said that , a quick look through the programming reveals nothing.

    Copied from full install manual.
    "System > Siren >
RF Beep Volume ƒÛ MENU 7-4-2
This menu allows you to program the volume level of the radio
key speeker beeps which are heard when the system is armed
and disarmed using a radio keyfob."

When the alarm is triggered the volume will be normal, but quieter for remotes. Depends if you are using a horn siren or 12 volt siren

    Cool

I didn't check "The Bible" just the quick guide. The quick guide says this is a system wide parameter which indicates it would be for ALL siren events.

Yeah that's what I thought it was too, until I tried it at a job for this same reason.

    Hi Secure,

This setting does not exist on my Solution 16+.

When going to Menu 7-4-2 all there is, is menu for speed, sound, swinger e.t.c for the main strobe. There is no specific setting for the "RF Beep Volume"
    that you mentioned above.

I am going into the settings via Installer Code also.

Are you sure the extract you quoted is for this alarm system?

    It is menu 7-4-2
It may not be called RF beep volume on the screen. It might be called volume or sound.

Nope.. i've already tried this menu, this simply adjusts the volume of the siren for everything, not just arm/disarm via keyfob..

    Doesn't look its possible.

    Andrew,

Have you actually tested this? To my recollection the volume setting ONLY affected the "speaker beeps" on fob arming/disarming and NOT the volume of the siren on a regular alarm activation.

Obviously this requires a horn speaker and if you're using one of those infernal 'all in one' bell type units, you can't do anything except make it noisy or silent.

I think if you set the volume to 0 you get a croak sound.
    Give it a try
