I was under the impression it was DSC PC1864 hardwired and wireless units. When I was working for them we were installing the DSC.

NRMA customers get the units delivered pre-programmed, then when they connect it up they can ring in to commission it, or NRMA can offer a tech to commission it after the customer installs it.

Kinda makes you wonder why we bother with licences, both ACA and Sec...

Wow, so who does the connection of the Plugpack, Telephone, Internal siren, Codepad ?

Interesting, i would understand if it was a "telephone" alarm style system, a ademco lynx, a magellan or something.. but this.. interesting.

I have been meaning to ring them up to find out exactly what the system is, but I'm 100% sure all they were putting in through subbies were the PC1864

At least a ness 5000 had a securitel option, and could have a remote codepad :P
Back in those days most domestic ness 5000 installs had the panel located in a cupboard or similar, with a reed on the door :P

Default Siren location

Just drove past a house in my neighbourhood.....ahhhh NRMA siren box mounted half way down the way about chest height at the front corner of the house. A BIG square white box with NRMA signage all over it and a solar panel on top...

Nice!!! siren cannot go under the eaves because the sun cannot charge the solar panel (hheheheh). I am going to get a picture so you can all have a laugh.

It looks pathetic....but at least its at sledge hammer height !!!
.

Yes some companies will got to any length, just take Gerry harvey for one,

http://www.hardlynormalsecurity.com.au/

Harvey Norman SECURITY
all fine until

Harvey Norman SECURITY
which redirects to my mates over at pull tech...

You gotta be real hard for sales for a national whitegoods/furniture retailer to be selling security
