It's probably like the Permaconn pump 64 events into the buffer and the thing locks up. Powering up and down fixes the problem but you will lose the events in the buffer. Dont you guys test anything ??. By the way the same thing happens over the PSTN if the buffer gets full.

I've seen something similar a few times with the SED62, it's always come good after I've done a macro reset. Hold Test button on power up.

Ok. First time I had to do this, the problem was that a PSTN fail was being generated with every test report, yet a ?H showed nothing out of the ordinary. Whoever I spoke to at sec-eng advised me to hold test on power up. He referred to this as a macro reset. Fixed the problem.

Keep it professional.

As far as im aware they don't make the Sed 61 anymore. It's been superseded by the Sed 62 which does the same as the Sed 62 but with the gprs option as well. We've used quite a few of both types, as well as Fe 2 and 3000. To date we have had all models lock up at some stage. Could be the sim card (just like my mobile phone locks up every now and again) or could be a genuine modem fault with the unit which the manufacturers have failed to address.

I do agree that the original post was a reasonable question. Please answer if you can and dont if you cant. Doesnt get much simpler than that.
