Default Spam emails being sent from my accounts

I am getting spam emails returned to me which indicates that they are being sent somehow from my account without my knowledge.
This has caused me to have my emails banned from a couple of my clients. I have to shutdown my cable modem for a while so I get a new IP address and can send them emails again.
I am using Kaspersky Internet security and also run Adaware and Spybot. Nothing shows up on any of the scans of my PC (running Windows XP Pro)
I use Optus cable as my ISP

I would really appreciate any advice from Austech members as this is beyond my knowledge

Most likely they are just using your address from somewhere to put out the spam. I had it a lot in my last job where I would get the "Undeliverable mail" come back to me, and occasionally get spam from other people where I worked. I believe this was caused by our emails being clearly avaliable on the website (new people not on the website never suffered from this).

I'd be suprised if its coming from your PC.
Coding in C is like sending a 3 year old to do groceries. You gotta tell them exactly what you want or you'll end up with a cupboard full of pop tarts and pancake mix.

    Thanks for the feedback
I also get emails returned that I haven't sent and I assumed that was what was happening. Annoying but not terrible.

In this case it is the return of emails that I have sent. The transcript is:
The original message was received at Thu, 5 Feb 2009 05:20:47 +1100
    from c122-106-70-106.rivrw1.nsw.optusnet.com.au [122.106.70.106]

I had a customer have this problem just the other day and the only thing i could think of was to change the password of his email account and it seemed to stop it but i am not to confident of it fixing the problem as the only real solution would be is to get a new email addy

This happened to me a few months ago. My inbox was being filled with return to sender messages. I redirected the senders to my junk email box. It lasted only about three weeks and then stopped as quickly as it started. Maybe your email adress just gets hijacked short term, I don't know. But it did go away.

I just checked and the emails I sent did actually get through. This problem only happens with emails sent to one of our ,major companies, no one else.

The rest of my returns are just generic spams being returned to me where they have picked up my address from a website
