![]() | My wife is getting a heap of Spam at her work and its driving her nuts. She uses Mailwasher Pro, but I think she has just been blacklisting every dodgy Email (server?). Now Mailwasher goes crazy. I have tried to uninstall and re install, but it just keeps the same settings as before I uninstalled. I have tried to disable Mailwasher and just use office Outlooks Junk mail filter, thats not working either. It is her work Email, so she cant change the addy. Any suggestions of proggys or settings to help her? Thanks |

| Super Moderator | Sign up for a Gmail account. Although it is webmail , it also allows you to add a POP3 account in as well which you can send and receive with without anyone knowing the difference. Gmail's filters are pretty good and I have about 7 gig of space free ( I have used 1% in the 6 months I set it up at a members suggestion. |

| Premium Member | Yeah gmail is the way to go. It fetches about 10 of my pop3 accounts and I end up seeing about 1 spam every 2 days instead of a few hundred. 1. Set up gmail to fetch your mail from all your pop3/imap accounts. 2. optional - use your preferred mail client to fetch your email from gmail so gmail just becomes a proxy / filter. gmail also has great great filtering options.

![]() | Blacklisting or bouncing? If that program is bouncing SPAM, that's the worst thing it could do. It seems that the spammers are getting smarter and can identify mail that is not bounced immediately as being a "live" address, therefore SPAM it even more. |
