blinking address bar

HI Guys, my IE7 address bar have been playing up lately.and it will not let me do anything on the computer unless i short it down.the address bar is continuously blinking cant go to another site and it has affected the explorer as well, the address bar was blinking and wouldn't let me do anything.I am running winxp pro, IE7. i've done virus scan many times hoping this will cure the problem but not. if you have any suggestion, please don't hesitate to lend it.your help is seriously needed.

Use: Firefox or safari!

Forget IE it sucks.
