    I was thinking joshy12 made a typo.

Perhaps 12370, not 12270 that he posted.

    That would make more sense.

Just done a blind scan and mine has scanned in on 12369 (V).
That's after a system reset and clean blind scan.

Joshy, are you sure you have the correct LO setting for your LNB?

It should be 10700, not 10600; which is why you would be picking up the TP on 12270, not 12369.

    Default No Gold in WA

    That's a revelation - "There's no Gold in WA"

These shopping channels were likely just place holders anyway.

As far as I understand it, the signal from a VAST or any other STB is broken down into its various components and sent to the TV which has now become a Monitor bypassing the SD/HD tuner.
It was only ever the Tuner that was SD/HD, not the screen.
This is why you can attach ANY type of TV or Monitor be it a CRT, projector or LCD/Plasma and it can show the image received from the STB as either an AV, Component or HDMI input.

Correct Gordon that's why I put the on the end as I was being facetious.

Fact is there shouldn't even be any SD only channels any more, they should all be HD & any shows that are old & low bit-rate can be either upscaled or broadcast at a lower bit-rate & resolution on the HD channels.
Just look at the, low bit-rate, low resolution, old shows that are on the HD channels like 7Mate & Gem now.

So there is no reason to have SD channels apart from maybe equipment & data rate costs.
    Cheers, Tiny

    Partly right, Gordon.

Tuners and screens (plus other circuitry) determine what can be displayed.

A screen can only display resolutions up to it's designed maximum.

    Eg: A screen with a resolution of 1024 × 768 will not accept a source with a resolution of 1920 × 1080

Yes, you can connect a full-HD source to a screen that cannot display 1920 x 1080, but you have to downscale it to match the screen's maximum resolution.

For instance, if you try to feed a 1080i video signal into a screen with a maximum resolution of 576i, it won't work.

You would need to set the output of the source (eg: STB) to 576i.

A bit OT, but that's how it works.

Also, the reason why all channels cannot be HD, is the limitation of bandwidth.

Sorry Tiny, I should have been aware you were having a joke but I am sure you have run across people who are adamant that such a critter exists and wont be convinced otherwise.
Like my Late Grandmother who was convinced that you saw more of the same picture on a 21 Inch TV than a 14 inch one !!!
I have often wondered if she got that idea from the Movies because the projector lens was circular and there was a bit of a 'bleed over' if the black borders of the screen were a bit reflective.

WIN's channels on VAST aren't just used for direct-to-home VAST viewers. They also convert them to DVB-T for terrestrial viewers. I'd say the SD and HD services are there to make that conversion easier. What I do find odd is SBS continues to simulcast SD and HD on VAST when their channels aren't converted to DVB-T at all. They should get rid of their SD simulcast.

Maybe because their allocated that 'space' and as they have nothing else to use it for they have chosen do it that way.
