Default VAST WA launching WINHD & 9Life next week

Looks like a "few days" after Tuesday.

When will WINHD and 9Life be available on my TV?
These two new channels will start this coming Tuesday the 1st of March.
WA Viewers Please Note: Due to technical requirements, the new channels will be delayed by a few days into your area.

No such good news in the Central and Eastern footprint. Imparja advised me the other day that they have no plans to introduce a HD version of their main channel or 9Life.

Makes you wonder what 'Technical Issues' (excuses) Impaja has for not including these channels in their line up.
I dont really care if we dont have a HD version of a current channel (Similcast) but one that has standalone programming is a different story.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

Everybody has their own preferences - but for me its HD or the bush. Bit rate starved SD whether on VAST or Terrestrial looks terrible on a big screen TV IMHO. I hope that at some stage in the future I can have all the main channel FTA HD services (including ABC who have indicated that they will be switching to HD with News 24 reverting to SD) lined up in sequence on my XCruiser so I can happily delete every single SD secondary service - the content of which has little or no interest to me.

For the ABC NEWS to have it in HD is a pathetic joke.
Dont get me wrong as I like HD too but looking at some of the programs offered by the FTA Broadcasters leaves a lot to be desired.
I saw looking at the line up for 7Flix even though its not available here that this channel is a hodge podge of old and even older programs that dont even justify Definition let alone High Definition !!!

why is it every time there is a change or service upgrade, w.a. is way behind ?

do they have to fly techs in or something ?

hbbtv was about 6 months behind the eastern states.....

That should change mid-year when ABC launches their simulcast HD channel. Although I disagree - the only channels that shouldn't be in HD are the shopping ones. I'd much prefer all proper channels to be HD regardless of their content.

7flix is a standard definition channel. One thing to note is even if these new channels don't appeal to you now, you might eventually lose your favourite programs as the networks tweak their target audiences. If you like Seinfeld or The Amazing Race, you now need 7flix.

VAST has 2 channels dedicated to updates for Viewers which is where I would expect any changes to be advertised rather than doing as the Terrestrial channels do and 'Open' one up in advance.
There was never any schedule announced such as 7 days, 7 weeks or 7 Months prior to any changes being implemented as the last announcement I can remember was the Software update for the UEC Decoder over a year ago.

Possibly the 'Broadcaster' of that suite of Channels could run a scrolling banner across the screen advising Viewers of additional Channels as they did during the changeover from Analog to Digital but this was NOT done when the Terrestrial SEVEN Regional Network added their 3 Channels in MPEG-4 which hasnt gone over well.

Suffice to say both 800 0r 802 for the East Coast are running the normal information for receiving VAST at 1100 hrs, Monday 7 of March, 2016.

I did a blind search for new channels on the weekend, and only come up with new one for $oxtel.

    Nothing for VAST at all.

Still this Thurs according to their website. Surprised they're actually setting a date. It's funny how SBS, SCTV and Imparja have all said VAST bandwidth being unavailable or unfunded is their reason for not starting any new channels, yet WIN and GWN seem to get there.

Gold has disappeared and it looks like the rest of the terrestrial broadcast is breaking up because of it. Scanned the VAST WA TP and Gold also absent there.
