We connected a NVR up to a customers network, to his Modem/Router which also provides Wifi. Local access on the LAN was fine, remote access via his mobile phones cellular data was fine, but access via the Wifi network didn't work. There was an option in the NVR settings '1500 MTU', when ticked the Wifi access streamed the video without a problem. The manual didn't elaborate much, only referring to Maximun Transmission Unit of 1500(bytes?).
I remember reading that a Type II Ethernet frame had a maximum payload size of 1500 bytes, otherwise the frame would be fragmented.
Does the same apply to Wifi?, and did it possibly not support fragmentation?
Any feedback appreciated.
