I know that the Logitech Harmony remotes work fine with the dreams, but they are not that cheap, but they are definitely a brilliant remote. I remote controls everything.
Spent some time with my old man last week and as I have done before I hooked up my dreambox while I was there.
When I left it looks like I forgot to pickup the remote (probably explains where the last one I lost got to)
Anyway I have a "learning remote" I am trying to program so I do not have to take the childrens remote from upstairs, but it seems to not work. Murphy's law for me again.
The learning remote does work as it replicates my hummy remote with no problem.
Has any of the members here been able to use a learning remote (any brand) to replicate the DM500 remote control?
Even better does anyone have the remote controls "code" you can plug into some of the universal remotes around?

What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

Try Dreambox (2030) thats the code for a jumbo universal remote
Adobe
A replacment remote would be cheaper than a universal remote

You have to think outside the box on this one fellas,
How far away is your old man's place?
KK
First of all the old man is interstate on the NSW south coast. I can not go and pick it up and he can not point it towards Melbourne!
Sticking in the mail is not much use... I will pick it up next time I see him.
Secondly (and with full respect to him) he would not know how to use it anyway.
Thanks for all the replies, I have now ordered both a learning remote and a replacement DB500s remote.
i use a Logitech Harmony 525 Remote with both my Dreams, once it's set up, it works great.
as with all remotes, you do need to spend a bit of time teaching them the buttons, not all work straight out of the box. In saying that, you can then go and teach it other stuff too
