The aircraft, which earned its nickname because it apparently resembles a bottom, is around 50ft (15m) longer than the biggest passenger jets and is 143ft (44m) wide and 85ft (26m) high.
The company designed the Airlander 10 to stay airborne for up to three weeks.
The huge aircraft can be used for a variety of functions including surveillance, communications, delivering aid and even passenger travel.
It uses helium to become airborne and can travel at a speed of 92mph (148km/h).
Wonder if it leaks if it would sound like a high-pitched fart.

Saw that on TV the other night and shortly after was a program on one of the heaviest lift Helicopters currently in use today.
The Helicopter was used to lift a 'Transformer' (50 tonne?) only a short distance and it handled it with relative ease but it generates a 100 MPH downdraft which is a problem in itself.
It was a battle for the ground crew to attach and remove the slings used under those conditions as well as avoiding damaging the cargo and surroundings with such a fierce downdraft.
I didnt see in the article what it is proposed the 'Flying Bum' can lift but if it can lift what that Helicopter can and hover the same with out the Rotor Blade Downdraft, then its going to be in high demand indeed.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
An updated version of the old airships, interesting propeller at the rear.

Pretty much..... not filled with deadly hydrogen though.
Mind you, breathing straight helium can be deadly, as it displaces oxygen..... but you'd have to admit, the screaming passengers/crew would sound hilarious.
Someone tell Kim Kardashian she has a team willing to help put her pants on.
Death smiles at everyone. Grumpy old men smile back.

I am actualy surprised one of the weird brigade hasnt objected to the shape and claimed it either denigrates persons with a weight problem or that those who see it will be consumed with lustful thoughts towards either Humans or animals......................

Maybe we should fit some jox to it.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Dont laugh because when they relocated the "Big Sheep' at Goulburn a few years ago, there was quite a flurry of comments regarding the rear end of the structure which had been partly hidden at the old location but was now in full view for all to see.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
So now Goulburn has the " Big Dag "
If you reckon the Dags are big, you orta see the Blowies.....................
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Airlander 10, the world's largest aircraft, has crashed during its second test flight.
The huge ship – nicknamed "The Flying Bum" because of its pert, round back – crashed as it landed at its base at Cardington Airfield this morning, at the end of its second attempt to fly.
After it had 'bottomed out".
Looks like it fell on its arse.....

Supposedly a telephone pole/wire was involved . . . .

Looks to me like the blowers on the front, weren't strong enough to counter-act the nose dropping down that far.
It made me think.. if the helium cells are big enough, would lighter, pure Helium, 'run' uphill inside the cells when they imbalance, thereby making the problem worse?
As in: The Helium used isn't 100% pure. (conjecture) It has a certain (very small) amount of heavier gasses mixed with it. When the long pressurised tubes of the airship go end-up, does the heavier gas run to the bottom, and the lighter, pure Helium, separate out to the top, and make the imbalance worse?
Mmm...dat ass.
