    Default Smartphone backup batteries

G'day, are those backup batteries/power packs that you can get for mobile phones worth it? Do they work well? Which ones are recommended?

    Cheers, Gab

Some are good, many are rubbish (Ebay).
Usually the chip that controls the charge goes faulty and the battery capacity is far overrated.

I purchased this one and am very happy with it:

...but I paid $25 a few months ago from that seller.

Power banks are better as compared to the batteries.

Power banks or power packs are not bad as a battery back-up. There are few brands whose products work really good. My cousin had one from mI (Xiaomi). I used it for a few days and I really liked it. So I kept it for myself

    I have one of these...

I was an original crowd funder, so I got it cheap and early. The thing with this one is the speed that it recharges. From flat to fully charged in about 12 mins.

My Samsung recharges using it really quickly...

+1 for the Xiaomi product. I have two of them, bought from GearBest and they have performed flawlessly. My teen aged daughter took them to Europe for three weeks and hammered them (still does).
Beware of fakes, as they are out there in huge numbers. even have an authentication website to verify if the product is genuine.

Now THATS a good idea...original Dreamboxes used to do that IIRC.
