    Default alarm.com

    Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone has personally used Alarm.com, i have been using the DSC Impassa with Alarm.com with a local company for about 6 months, and i love it. Very good system.

Wondering people's opinions and thoughts on it.

Just a different way of thinking about security really and the way which I expect the industry will head over the next few years. The concept has worked really well in the US. It's not the be all end all though and there are other platforms out there that offer similar features. Considering the time and effort UTC put into Zero Wire, I'm surprised that there doesn't appear to have been a huge push with that. Although, considering their current major channel to market, it guess it's not really that surprising.

Alarm.com were on the game early and given the amount of R&D the put into things, I expect to see good things from these guys over the next few years. One thing I will say though is that in order to take full advantage of the system, and the revenue streams available, you need a well educated sales team and techs that don't have blinkers on.

Shame that Zero-Wire which was developed in Sydney by Hills was sold to UTC. Must have needed some cash.
Now will be rolled out by Telstra.

Check out SkyGuard, using the MultipathIP network debuting at SecTech. Works with DSC, NX, Paradox.

Will be interesting to see how Skyguard is accepted by the Control Rooms - now offering a self monitored solution with optional control room monitoring. Looking at this offer its easy to see it's the Securenet platform + OEM hardware. Just hope IR can support 3rd party platform!

Yeah seemed like an ok unit from what I've seen of it.
I think the Telstra rollout of this product flopped. Not sure if they are even still pushing it.
