Im hearing not so good reports about Teslas standing in the auto world.

Looks like the big makers are holding ground with Hybrids and full electrics that can be mass produced cheaper.

Shame as they led the way for other to follow.....

I guess that was always going to happen Godz, but yes, its a shame if Tesla get price blocked out of the market.
Looks from the outside that they have placed themselves in the premium vehicle part of the market, so that would offer some protection.

From friends that have returned from CA, people love the Tesla, they are on the roads everywhere, with huge growth in numbers.
Friends also quoting they would buy one if they lived in the states where they are cheaper then here.

But you are right, Tesla need to find a way to expand in very short time, without going broke in the process.
Its one thing to make 50,000 EV vehicles, its another to make 500,000+ per year
As a shareholder, you wouldn't be expecting a profit announcement anytime soon.

Yep thats the other talk of the town, investors where lining up to jump on board at the start, now that reality has hit, its not such a good investment.

What should have happened was that the big auto companies should have got together and privately invested in them as a group and then shared the technology between themselves......used tesla as a research and development tool....

So far its still been a good investment, 2013 saw the massive rise in share price, and for the last 18months its just held ground with profit taking and some new investment now and then.
Dividends... pfft, that hardly going to happen, but you wouldn't expect them to either.

Maybe some investors were hoping an Auto Giant like VW buys them out.

Being the leader in commercial EV technology is a risk in itself, as the others can just hang in the wings and let Tesla do all the heavy lifting.
All they need to do is buy 1 Tesla vehicle, rip it to bits and use the R&D to help build their own version.

Still, regardless of the economics of it all, there is some great vehicles for customers nowadays.
And if this is what we get NOW.... imagine in 5 more years

The acceleration figures are already better then near all V8's on the market, and some Supercars

    Better than supercars?

Supercars....No sorry i should say Hypercars are already using hybrid technology.

You just cannot beat the torque that electric motors produce.

... and I bet it can do 0-10km/h in 3 seconds.
Why they made the seat so small

They won't make a profit for a while because they're investing in infrastructure such as the free charging stations, new facilities, r&d, expansion into new territories. Their gross profit per vehicle is actually quite good ~ $18k per vehicle, unseen in the industry. They just need to grow and when they mature, they'll be making 500k+ cars. Tesla does face a few issues, namely production capacity and their ability to roll out their vehicles. This will caused by numerous issues, none that cannot be resolved.

    Recactions of the older P85
I just love how it sits in silence, then boom!

Every race against a petrol vehicle, sees the petrol vehicle on the limiter with launch control, making all the noise in the world.
These EVs are going to be great for cyclists
    Or pedestrians with headphones in

Over the years the lack of noise was a issue brought up a few times.

Talk of a speaker making broom broom car sounds was being discussed.

Realistically they are surging ahead in leaps and bounds. You are correct, there is a lot for them to spend in infrastructure, particularly with fast charge stations on major routes but the response Tesla has been getting from the public is astounding.

The face of the automobile industry is changing at an extremely fast rate and it wont be long before we see electric driver less cars on the road.
