Default 3d Printer - Anyone got one, Windows Locks

In My old House I have Window Locks which apparently I can no Longer buy.
I'll take a photo and upload a pic as well.
I was thinking of Buying a 3d printer and making my Own.
Cheapest I can find is via one of our Forum members if they are still here - gearbest.
Looks like its approx $203 delivered.
Would it do the Job ??
    Anyone got any Recemendations.
is it worth it 0- Will it do the job Ok.
It does not have to be perfect as long as they hold the windows in place.
otherwise anyone know where I can get replacements as per the Pic Ive attached.
The ones around this house are so old the Windows have began dropping due to them been perished.
Have put the better ones up top so they don't drop and the shitty ones down bottom.
If gearbest is Still a Site sponsor maybe he can do me a Deal

I know that a few members have 3D printers from previous postings in the forum...the electronics section from memory.

    Member loopyloo has a 3D printer - .

I have posted links to a number of other forums specialising in 3D printers. A forum SEARCH should find them.

    IMO not worth it.
There are many universal types of window locks that you can surely use, available at your local hardware store or ebay that would cost far less than a 3D printer where you might also end up with a lot of difficulties getting to work the way you want it, so I am pretty sure it will be also more time consuming.
Making your own templates from scratch with 3D modelling software is not exactly a piece of cake either, unless you already have experience with that, otherwise you might need a 3D scanner.
If you want to start a new hobby (and need to buy a 3D printer in order to print the new locks as an excuse for the wife ), then that is a different story.

From the looks of it a bit of aluminium angle with a bit of elbow grease on a hacksaw and file would produce a perfectly acceptable result.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I have tried the Local Windows Places with no Luck and had spent hours looking online for something similar but no luck.
I tried even ringing several other places around 10 year ago with no luck.
If you know anyone that has these please let me know..

If you have a close look you will see a Plastic outer part and An inner Steel part thats set on a spring to push the Tab into the rectangle slot in Window Frame
Unless I get a Milling machine to Fabricate it I dont think a hacksaw would do much..

Mutanti, just a stab in the dark, try a caravan window supplier/parts
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"

I thought that the tab was on the window and just slid into a slot cut in angle bit. A caravan place may have what you need. Is it meant to just hold the screen on or does it lock the window, too? Can you post a piccie of the underside of one?

I will Unscrew one on the weekend and show a Lot More Detail.
Its a lock that allows you to either lock window full up or down oo on several spots where there is a Notch in the frame..

Honestly if you only need to print a few things and especially if you can design it yourself, then use a 3d printing service. Yes it's a little more than if you printed it yourself, but you don't have to buy or maintain a 3d printer. Most consumer 3d printers available now are very finicky. Everyone I know of is broken as often as it's working. I recommend shapeways.com I've used them a lot. Mostly for metal printing but they do a really good job and are reasonably priced. I'm not sure if it's still available bu they had a thing where you could sign up to get 2 day turnaround on plastic printing too. Anyways, buying a printer is probably not the best option if you can't afford a really high end one.

Ok I have taken The Photos Finally.
Never heard of online Places that would print them for you.
I'll have to have a lookie.
And see what prices are for them. I have 2 in ever window ( 8 in Each Window Frame ) so there would be approx 52 as a Quick rough guess
They could be slightly differnt to the shape as long as they would fit...
The Steel Pins could be reused and Springs as well.....

    Cheers
    Fred
