Default RTP and TVE on AsiaSat 5 at 100.5°E move to C9H

    TVE and RTP now on 3960 H SR3000 FEC5/6. ..>>

Once the C10H TP is vacated you'd need a 3 meter dish in the south east. So get ready for the dramas...
As well as having to upgrade to an MPEG 4 box changing to a 3m would be a big ask.

SA and VIC seems ok but further east signal drops off... at the current level to receive C9H tp in NSW you'd need a 3m unless RRMedia reduce the FEC to 3/4..

2.4m solid. Not for this freq but because some freqs that carry sports you really want the larger dish. normally a 1.8m solid is fine here.
But there are times I would not get some live sports on AS5 with a 1.8m

Rear two 2.4m are Telkom 108 & Palapa 113, AS5 in front of them. At left is a 3m on KY Thaicom.
4.2m on Thaicom 78.5e cband. Regional freqs I am just on edge of footprint and need them for a US IPTV client.

Predelin 3m on 124E Ku and the 4.2m on thaicom.

    Hi guys,
    Same drama here:
    3960/H/30000 5/6 and a 2.3 mesh antenna
Using SRT4950H, can pick all other FTA channels on asiasat 5 (71 in total) but none on transponder TP9 ?!
    Western suburbs (St. Albans)
Is there any hope/ thing I can do to get it ?

    TIA
    Joe

Check the dish is not warped. tweek the direction, focal length and polarity orientation. there're about 4 brand of 2.3m dishes with different level of efficiency
    depends on the manufacturer.

C11H.. 4040 H SR 29720 is another with same issue.. Perviy kanal Asia is also migrating there from C10H. It's all to do with the FEC being 5/6. Both C9 and C11 have same power level as C10.... If FEC would change to 3/4 you will have no issue. You can write to them and maybe the'll do something.

    Teleport operator... > marketing@rrmedia.com
    Asiasat Master Control.. > cnc@asiasat.com

    Other solutions

    1. 3m dish or....
    2. Pancas Kodi.... refer to IPTV.

Good news... As of today signal has been boosted and all come good on 2.3m dish. Spanish audience can access 3 channels the 3rd being Euronews select Spanish audio. Portugese can access 2 channels Euronews select portuguese audio.

Lets hope the'll keep it up.

    Default Supernet 880

    Hoping someone can help.

Have purchased a Supernet 880 and have a 3M dish pointed 100.5E and can't pick up the Spanish channels. Any suggestions on how to make it work?

    I'm in NSW.

Have other channels over 4,000 but seems to hate 3960H. Signal strength is at 60%.

    thanks

    Hi,
I'm having the same issue back here in Melbourne.
I spoke to a technician near my place today and and he told me that there is an issue on the satellite ?! Not sure if it's true.
He also mentioned that it would be OK by the 1st of August ...
Let's hope it's true because the Portuguese channel is also going there !!

    So let's wait and see...

    Joe

PS: I've sent a couple of emails to the people suggested above. So far no response ...

Well, hopefully ,just maybe they will start up Asiasat 8 and start migrating all the channels from Asiasat 5 to Asiasat 8 if they are having all these troubles..or they may launch a new satellite ( Asiasat 9?) to replace Asiasat 5..Time will tell...Hmmm

The service on C9H (3960) require an MPEG 4 receiver.. Older receivers with no HDMI output are MPEG 2 only, and would need to be replaced.

    Update...

RTPi and TVE will be testing on C2V (3700 Ver SR3000) expected to be permanent if all is good.

Yesterday I sent an email to: dan.akrich@rrmedia.com; maria.mera@overon.es, as suggested.
They responded promptly and asked me to check this transponder: (3700/V/30000-3/4).

    Their response:
Can you please check if you receive this TXP ?
According to Asiasat – ¾ Fec should resolved the reception problem,
And we might have a possibility to move RTPi to this TXP.

So far, I can get RTPi Asia (+ others already listed). All good. Let's hope it stays there.

    Joe
