Lately, I couldnt help but notice my Windows been updating automatically and using large amount of my data. Buh I figured out how to turn of Windows 10 Auto update off.
It is simple:
- Goto my Computer
- Click on Open settings from the tab menu or press "Win key and i"
- Click update and security
- Under windows update, select "Advanced option"
- Click "Choose How updates are delivered"
- Then turn off the button.

Henry,
I note that you appear to be sneakily attempting to advertise using a website you own.
This would breach the site rules of self-promotion, which you have accepted... unless you are a Premium Member.
If you wish to continue to promote your website, you need to become a Premium Member, otherwise, failing to remove any reference to your website will be considered spamming, which of course is not permitted.
Please consider Premium Membership.
Thanks.

it's not the updating that annoys me it's the downloading of crap that I don't want or can't stop. It will be a group policy thing somewhere in there that will fix it but haven't found it yet,
but when I do I'll be much happier
stopping the service is the quick way, but I still want to be able to pick what comes down

I also found another method if that didn't work for you.
It is simple. Windows 10 also give you an option to set "over Metered network" . What this does is that, it help disable Junk update/other updates on a particular network that you are connected to.
To do that,
- Hold "Windows icon" and "i" on the keyboard to goto Windows settings.
- Click "Network & Internet"
- On the Right side, click "WiFi"
- Click "Manage known networks"
- You will see a list of Frequently connected networks.
- Select you current active network or most frequent used Network.
- Click Properties after selecting a particular network.
- Scroll down and Turn on "Metered Connection".
- Enjoy.
I think selecting what to update could actually be a group policy...
