You need to block the things the activation wizard installed on/in your computer, from your spyware and from your antivirus . . .
Hi all,
I have a laptop which I have installed Microsoft Office 2010 on it and activated it using the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard. Recently, I bought another laptop for my son and downloaded and installed Microsoft office 2010 on it.
Once installed, I opened up Word and Excel and the message came up asking to activate it using the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard. Is there a way to stop this window appearing every time I want to open Word Excel etc? It wont allow me to activate it again because it was activated on my other laptop.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

You aren't "Allowed" to do that, Slick. M$, generally, only allows you to install its products on one PC. There are tools out there, but they are illegal.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Try the activate by phone method, takes around five minute to key in a code to phone and one back on the computer.
Works with retail editions of 2010.
Another thing you can do to get around this one is contact Microsoft if it is a retail and tell they you have a new PC and wish to transfer the licence. They will then remove the activation on their database. With the retail version, you are allowed to transfer it from computer to computer. Just strictly speaking you are not supposed to leave it on the computer you are transferring from.
It may be worth noting however office 2016 was released this year and it doesn't seem to have the bugs that Microsoft failed to correct after introducing them in 2007 and 2010. And Microsoft also offers an Office 365 university suit for $99 and lasts for four years. May be worth considering if the machine is used for school work. This will also allow him to store his work in the Microsoft cloud.
Here is a link.
No, i don't work for Microsoft,
Great stuff. Thanks for the info.
