    Default Puppet Master

I found this Android app over the weekend called Puppet Master

It's sort of a native Android version of Kodi, where people can write add-ons (which are called puppets) for various video streaming sites. It's much nicer to play with on Android than Kodi but it's only got the standard couple of dozen video add ons at the moment. Works on hand held devices and tvs (Amazon Fire Stick included) with Android 5 and up (Lollipop?)

It's also got a built in VPN (for a subscription fee) which will get around region restrictions automatically.

It's just been kicked out of the Play store though, so you'll have to side load it for the moment. I assume it was the VPN stuff that got it banned.

I chopped together a simple puppet for Australian TV if anyone want to give it a go (hit the Install Puppet button then go down to Install from Pastebin)

    Pastebin code gvRJpw7W

I can't get it to work on Nougart. I think it's the app.

I use PureVPN subscription app and Kodi app from app store together so getting chucked out of the app store is just stupid unless they bundled the stream apps with the app store bundle that's what kodi doesn't do

Kodi got pulled from the Amazon Store at one point as well.

I reckon someone important puts in a complaint and the store owner give it pretty easily. They'll just have to argue their case or maybe tweak something minor and then it will get back in.

Here's a modified version of the BBC iPlayer puppet, if you've got a smart DNS or VPN already and you don't need the built in VPN system.

If you've already installed the version that comes package with Puppetmaster, uninstall it and restart the app first.

Last night I was prompted to update Puppet Master - I was sure it said none of my setup would be removed but it did a clean install.

After it restarted I could not find any option to use pastebin codes to download channels. Is there a menu I am not seeing or using?

I may have to side load my original version to have this ability again.

I'm using an Amazon Fire TV.

They took the pastebin feature out and put in and replaces it with a Kodi style repo feature. So now the puppets have to be compiled first and downloaded through a repo.

    The default on is REKODI

I initially installed a few channels from REKODI repository. What I really wanted was the modified BBC player if you have your own DNS app. There's a pastebin for that in this thread but not sure how I can get it now.

I haven't worked out how to compile the code for the new version yet but there is an option to turn off the DNS stuff in the latest version. Go into the settings and turn on 'Bypass Teleportation'.

There's a cool new puppet called #Pastey that let's you add M3U lists really easily through pastebin.

You put your m3u list into pastebin. Put the pastebin code into #Pastey and then it makes them into a puppet for you.

And when you edit the pastebin file it updates in the puppet.

It's in a Repo called SCRAPEY.

I don't know how well this will work I'm playing around with a Pastey for the Sheffield Shield matches. Once it's started running, it seems to update the token but it needs to be kept on or it reverts back to the m3u file.

I've had a go at making some puppets and putting them in a repository. Still testing a few things out and I'm working on a basic EPG for the Australian TV puppet but if anyone's interested, have a go and let me know how it runs.

    The RepoTag is gusrepo

I've added a basic EPG to the Australian TV puppet. There are a few random gaps but I'll try and sort those out. Also added the SBS channels.

If you've got the old one installed, you do this to update.

Uninstall it > long press and choose uninstall.
Force Close it > Go into the Android TV settings. Go to Apps. Find Puppet Master. Hit force close. Maybe clear the cache out while you're there.
Reinstall the puppet > Open Puppetmaster, go to Manage Repos - Gus Repo - then tick the Australian TV puppet on.

The Australian Parliament puppet has been upgraded a bit. It now has the state parliaments and the Royal Commission, as well as recorded videos (although only Federal and WA have any this point).

You have to uninstall the old one, force closer it (or restart the box) and then re-install it.
