Default G Force activated Car Cam recording.

During a 'friendly exchange of ideas on what type of Car Cam to buy, the person I was talking to claimed when the camera was activated in the G Force mode. it would record the previous 30 minutes and 'protect' it.
It was my understanding of this G Force activation, the camera was basically in standbye/sleep mode and not recording anything until this feature was activated by a 'sudden' movement and recorded for a predetermined period of time.

I also had the impression that G Force was primarily intended for when the vehicle was parked to reduce its internal Battery use.
I have seen some advertisments that did show the camera in G Force mode when being driven but from memory, they only showed playback from the moment AFTER being activated, not before.
My idea is that its better when your driving to have the camera recording when your driving to cover what happens in that period before the G Force mode is triggered.
Unfortunately not all situations occur in front of the camera but I thinks its better to have one than not to hopefully prove your not at fault.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

My forward and reverse facing camera system
    supports various autonomous recording modes.
You can choose according to your needs:
Continuous Recording, Incident Recording, Parking Surveillance and Manual Recording.
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

The features Seymour has listed are fairly standard across the range now but it was how the 'G' force' mode works was what we were 'debating' about.

I have a Uniden "Black Box' with 3 cameras, 2 front and one rear but only one front and the rear record simultaneously and it has G Force as a feature.
This also has GPS and shows location on 'Playback' in the companies Viewer program.
Disconnect the rear camera and both front cameras display and record.
I recently bought my Son one with 2 cameras, one front and one rear but it wasnt until I had it and read the manual to find the rear camera only records when the camera is powered up when in Reverse.
My Son's also has a 'Motion' record option which according to the manual will begin recording if anything comes within range BUT only from that point of time and then only for a preset time.
Obviously you could have it powered up continuously but then it wont record the Front Camera.

Because it has 'Auto start', you cant leave it on the car battery as it will record continuously and if you 'Stop' recording, the other features dont work.
