    Default Battery Technology

Seems this is where all in the research and technology is going.
Into a better Energy Storage Solutions, whether that be a Smartphone/Tablet or House Deep Cycle Batteries or Automotive Batteries

Most are now used to Lithium Ion and LifePo4, but what about the newer Technologies?
All the Snake Oil salesman saying they have the answer?

Does anyone here think, there is a Company that holds the key to far superior Battery Technologies, but is without holding it from the market place as it would jeopardise current products that might be making money for them?

I see Graphene Batteries and Sodium Batteries are making a lot of promises and talk around the net.

    Anyone follow this development?

I haven't looked in to graphene or sodium batteries, but the zinc-bromide flow batteries, such as those from are causing a bit of excitement at present. Simon Hackett (founder of Internode) has jumped on board as the CEO, so I suspect they are actually on to something pretty good.

This whole Battery thing, is becoming like the Tech Share Boom of years gone by
    Then the Bio Tech Boom.

So many people being CEO's or Apparently Investing Millions....
Hard to know what is "Ramping BS" and what is real.

    Example

If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

There is an interesting article on the latest trends in battery technology in the recent ReNew magazine issue 137.
It covers virtually everything from Lead-acid to Salt Water batteries (AKA Sodium ion batteries) & flow batteries.

The full article looks at currently available battery technologies in detail, including:

    • lead-acid
    • lithium ion
    • flow
    • salt water
    • metal-air
    • molten salt

Read the full article in .
