you got bent over there mate , if you applied online for the same price
you would get the 100Mb/s 1000GB
its $95 for the 25Mb/s then an additional $15pm for the full speed boost

I got the Telstra M Bundle for $90 with the 100 Speed boost thrown in for free - somehow I always end up with 700GB per month so I'm not complaining.
You should've pressed them for the free speed boost, if you're persistant they'll give it to ya.
Don't hold your breath waiting for NBN to connect you to the node, they're almost always a 'no show' - unless they have got their act together now.
I elected to continue with Exetel as I had ADSL2 plus telephone with them for 7 plus years and have been very happy with the service that they have provided.
When a NBN FTTN node appeared in my street 200 metres away, I contacted them regarding transferring my existing account to NBN FTTN.
My order was placed 7 July. They sent me regular progress reports and I received e-mail notification on 13 July that it was operational.
I was (and still am) up-and-running with a Monthly 500 GB Fibre plan at 100/40Mbps (incl. telephone) for $79 (per month).
It works well and speed continues to be excellent.
I expect the speed to taper off a little as more connections are made to that particular node.
From what I understood of the NBN in all its forms ie FTTN or FTTH, Wireless or SkyMuster Satellite they would never connect more customers than the system can handle so if thats true, there should be no 'slowdown' but unfortunately that wont prevent sites or other services from being overloaded.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

Define 'handle'.
There have been a very limited number of examples of temporary POI congestion within nbn, where nbn's link back to the capital city located interconnect has become congested. These problems go away once the permanent POI goes live.
There are plenty of fixed wireless services with nbn congestion. Fixed wireless nbn congestion takes ages to get fixed.
There are plenty of examples of Skymuster congestion, but that's understandable and should be largely addressed when the 2nd sat comes online (if not already) unless the Libs nbn dumps more urban dwellers onto it, something that it was never intended to be used for, as they've done in SA and TAS.
There have been a few cases of FTTN nbn congestion. FTTN nbn congestion has been fixed reasonably quickly.
FTTP has not shown any signs of nbn congestion at all.
There are loads and loads of examples of RSP congestion at various POIs. The TPG family is renowned for it, particularly the iiNet family.
That's a good question, as I don't know exactly how long it had been there before I noticed it.
I shall explain...
About three weeks prior, I noticed a lot of activity around a large Telstra pit located at an intersection 200m in the opposite direction to where I ultimately located the cabinet. On this basis, I expected to see a cabinet fairly close to and opposite that pit but located on my side of the street, as that is where the underground cable servicing my street is located.
As the anticipated cabinet failed to appear, about three weeks later I decided to investigate further by driving up and down streets in the vicinity. It was when I approached my address from the opposite direction (I rarely travel that way) that I saw the FTTN cabinet. Within several days a circular letter from TPG appeared stating that the service would "soon be available". It was at that point (first week in July) that I contacted my existing ISP requesting that they transfer my existing account to the NBN (fibre) plan of my choice immediately it became available. This took place on 13 July as previously stated.

how can i run a 2nd phone base? only off the modem?
i will need like a 3 or 4 handset job, with a speakerphone base, but would really like another speakerphone in another room
https://www.facebook.com/philquad68
There are 2 phone ports on the back of the Gateway Max.
I don't know for sure since I only have the one phone - but I'd say you just need to plug the base into the 2nd port.
If you have a complicated setup it might pay to have it wired up by an expert.
Running a 2nd base from the modem would be kinda messy.
AussieBroadband 100 Mbps /w 1 teraByte downloads @ $95 ...don't whether to recommend them as I'm having slow speeds and they keep telling me it's my end

Don't take your organs to heaven because heaven knows we need them here!
yea i know
i might try to run a phone cable back under the house to the kitchen for the 2nd phone
tell me, once they connect nbn on 31st does it kill me old phone line, as i read its still active for 6 months or so?
https://www.facebook.com/philquad68
Your old phone line will be disconnected the day they do the switchover and you can't go back to ADSL once you're connected to the NBN.
All old phone and ADSL services in an NBN area will be eventually switched off anyway - 18 months from whenever NBN became ready for service.
If you really need more than one phone contact Telstra about having someone come out and rewire your phone sockets.
If FTTP, plug a PC directly into the NTD and do some speed tests. That will remove your networking equipment from the problem.
If FTTN, check your modem's line sync rates. If your line is only achieving 40/10, there's no point in being on a 100/40 plan.
Run tests at various times of the day. If you only see speed problems during peak times, it's a congestion issue - either nbn or ABB.
Always use ethernet when testing. Do not use WiFi to test.
Don't rely solely on speedtest.net sites. Use a mix of tests or even download a file from a known fast mirror.
ended up with 22.8 mbps, thats ok
i doubt i could get more as the nodes a fair way away
just need to chop a few phone lines now

The Currant NBN plan I am on is from Telstra
100/40 speed 1500gb
It goes alright.
Delete me...
