    its no biggie but if anyone that knows access & has time to spare

    i have this car \ customer database for a mechanic
    in 1 of the fields he has added a date somehow
    i have no idea where to find the part to edit it

    Select the data tab for Label18, as in my pic and then right click in the Control Source field and select Build, it will then open.

    Yeah, mine was dbase III & then db IV before Access which I originally thought was crap (yeah , I know, db IV was a steaming pile of crap as well)

    You can right click on Control Source or right click on the expression and select Build, or just click the button with 3 dots at the far right of the expression highlighted in the added pic.

    I tend to agree with you Al, Dbase IV was a load of pooh. I cut my teeth on dB III and then went to Clipper. I ended up learning Access to catalogue my stamp collection. I've spent 10 years on that, which is an absolute pain because it means I am locked into M$. I should have gone MYSQL.
