    Default REcent Windows 10 update

After a recent Windows 10 update I notices two of my drives now appear as duplicates in my Navigation Pane

Any one have any ideas how I might get rid of them??
    Thanks
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

    Odd.

Assuming they are only shortcuts, can't you just highlights and delete or right click and select delete? (you may need to rename first)

Thanks MTV - Tried that - I don't think they are shortcuts.
I renamed the one I thought was just a shortcut and it left that name intact but renamed the physical driev
    Weird HUH ???

i think that is the W10 works. Every W10 machine I have seen does exactly the same - mind you they have all been upgrade units.

My 2 do exactly the same, couldn't get rid of them so just left it, though it is annoying

Haven't had it happen to my W10 computers.

Actually that's given me an idea Efab.
This unit (my Server) is my original i7 that started life on XP and has been upgraded to variant since.
I think I'll rebuilt this from a W10 install disc and see what develops

MTV has a point, this problem (whilst visible on some units) isn't on EVERY unit

    Cheers

I have a similar duplicate listing of my USB drive.(F) on my PC that is a 64 bit W10 Pro upgrade from 64 bit W8.1 Pro.
USB(F) is the storage drive on my wireless router.

I thought there were no other drives affected, however when I plugged a USB drive into my MoBo & my Tower Case USB ports it does the same; duplicates them in the list, they are the same drives. (G), (H)
Also the USB port (K) in the printer duplicates when it's turned on.

None off my Sata drives are duplicated.

On my 64 bit W10 Home clean install Laptop from Lenovo, it does the same with the USB ports.

I'm not going to worry about it.

Hope that helps, you may be chasing your tail. lol

Did some more investigating & found my Card reader in the laptop does the same.

They are just different paths to the same place, so I suspect it's just an indexing function in quick access.

Hasn't happened to me, but you can apparently fix this by editing the registry if it bothers you......

The indentation levels are different. That means they are not "duplicated" but are being recognized on different folder levels.

On Win 7 it was known as a "library" and it listed folders under both the library folder and under This PC.

It's a feature where you can access the same folder or drive from two different places on the PC.

In Win 10 there is a recent files feature too, which show up even if you have disconnected from that drive (e.g. external HDD).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it only does it with removable and network drives?

What I'm saying is, it's not an error.

    Thanks AdrianR.
This is fixed now, thanks to MTV's registry hack but at the time it was an issue it only happened with Network (shared) drives, it never happened with removable drives regardless of if they were shared or not.
I guess I agree, it not essentially an 'Error' in Windows 10, but it is Bloody annoying
