+1 for LED.
Cost effective, lower operating cost, longest service life.
Hi everybody,
My wife and I are getting the ceilings in the kitchen and second bedroom replaced.
We have high ceilings (as the house is late 1940's) and are wondering if anybody has any ideas about what lights and fittings are the most efficient. Our carpenter and cabinet-maker mentioned that LED lights fitted into the ceilings is generally the way to go these days for efficiency.
I also would like lights that are reasonably easy to replace as well when they burn out (with height as a factor.)
Thanks everybody.

What mtv said.
They are super bright and i doubt you will ever be replacing them.
Im still yet to be called out to a failed LED downlight (a proper one, not some retro fitted LV downlight)
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Have LED down ligths everywhere and I have replaced couple of them lately (they started to flash before they died completely). They are very easy to replace. Just pull them dowm unplug and plug the new one in. I suggest to buy couple extra (they cost around $15 each now) i bought set of then 10 - 2 days ago from ebay for $130 (low profile 4 cm tall fits perfectly under the roof beams) if you dont buy extra now your new ones may have diffrent transformer than the curent ones and you may need to replace that as well. It's still easy just 2 extra screws and you up and running.
ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI!
