I think you're in Queensland so Kristal Electronics might be better for you - kristal.com.au/ or kristalelectronics.com/.
I just checked and I found the 36 inch Heavy Duty one for $127. Cheao I hope is the Good and reliable as the one I have Now the Super Jack Heavy Duty. I just Checked this morning inside the rear Cover, this is the first time I did this in 4 Years and Screws come out Perfect No rust and everything inside 100 Percent. Very Very easy to adjust the limits. This Jack has done a Lot of work.

You can always go direct to Venture in the States.....

Several people I know have done this in the past and found Venture to be very helpful.

Freight would be a killer though.

Yes Freight + our lousy Dollar. I like keeping Spare Like C Band LNB for Moving Dish, C Band LNB (Cheap ones e not $500 onesfor Prodelin, Universal LNBF for fixed dish, 10700 LNBF for fixed Dish and NOW All I need is a Jack and a V Box 2 1.2 Controller and I will be Happy

I still have an American 36" Winersat actuator driven by the original Winersat controller (1988) driving the azimuth on the dish.
This is of the earlier type, positioned by a 10 turn potentiometer (instead of the magnetic counter) This old jack is built like a brick s--t house and easily outlasted a more recent Southern Cross 36" actuator on the far less strenuous up - down axis.

Avoid that brand at all costs, as they are very poorly made.
4.6m C band dish, numerous Strong boxes, GTsat V8 Nova and even an old BMAC somewhere ---

The One I have is Superjack (Sticker gone and I have repainted it.) and it done a Heaps of works for the last 6 to 7 years. In side it with the back cover off its like new. I like the Limits switch is set and very good.. Long 40 M distances and NEVER (Touch Wood) lost a count. This one has a Full One piece body with the lid on the rear.

    Hi 672A.

I am just wondering when you said you found the 36inch Heavy Duty for $127.00 - do you mean you saw one advertised at that price somewhere?

Over here in Perth - Access Antennas and Satellites, and Sciteqc don't stock a 36 inch Actuator only the 24 inch Heavy Duty Actuator.

    Thanks.

Thanks Mr 672A for the information regarding the company "Melbourne Satellites." They certainly have a much better range for satellite and Television gear to what we can get here in Perth at Access Antennas and Sciteqc.

The problem is I wonder what the freight is?! I might order at some stage two 36inch actuators as the freight may not be much more than just getting one. I am also after a FM antenna for long distance FM listening. I have found a Matchmaster TV antenna to have the best forward and front to back ratio gains for FM skip (10.9db forward and 20.5db front to back ratio) which is pretty damn good!! Melbourne Satellites have a 8 element yagi which is very reasonable in price. I might see what gains their A-VHF8E Yagi has and maybe get one off them as well!

Thanks once again for the helpful information.

I have found with the 24inch Actuators that they certainly don't give you the full sky from West to East and I have found I get the belly flop on the 2.3m dish. I can only get around to 156E on the 2.3m dish then the dish goes over belly flop style.

I get a lot of stuff wholesale from Melbourne Satellites.

According to my trade price catalogue the Geotrack 36" heavy duty actuator is $97. Might be worth your while signing up?

3 meters should work with a circular polarised feed.

    Thanks jbeatty.

What is the freight roughly on a actuator? I am thinking of buying a few things from them. There is nowhere in Perth that you can buy a 36inch actuator.

    Thanks.

You'll have to contact Melbourne Sats for a freight price David, but if you buy all your kit wholesale, the freight doesn't hurt as much---

    Thanks guys.

I have bought a lot of satellite items from Access Antennas and Sciteqc as well.

Yes, I pretty much thought whatever they show online was basically the stock they have.

I will ring Access Antennas and Sciteqc and see if they have the 36inch actuators.

Yes Yesterday I locked on to NSS 9 at 177 Deg W. Ony One transponder for me duo to my dish being to small. 3922 R is the West Hemi which is ok at around 39 dbw. The Global is around 35 dbw is no go for me.

Now our dish is going from 91.5 Measat 3 to Nss6 @ 177 deg W.

    Mr 672A Hi,
Are you using a moded LNB with wafer for circular pol ? My 1.8 meter solid picks up, using linear LNB, 3987 (best) also 3999 but 4103 won't lock. Do not get 3922 !! I have power pole in line of fire for this bird. I take it that your 2.3 dish is mesh with a clear shot at the bird.

    Cheers
