According to the charts at Lyngsat (later information than Satbeams), the American Forces Network (12647/H) is on a NE Asia beam (NEHC3) and Dish TV India (also 12647/H) is on an India (INHC3) beam.

Satbeams does agree with this. The Lyngsat listing is dated later at 30/04/2015 versus mid year 2009 for Satbeams. The Lyngsat observer is known to me and is usually quite reliable.

They are spot beams and come nowhere near Australia.

For the NSS6 beam footprints see the satellite operator's website at .

Yes I see that no transponder covers Australia via whats shown on Lyngsat. Years ago they did but not now. No dish for NSS 6

NSS6 was just above my horizon and unless it was no more than a very light cloud, I lost the signal using an 85cm dish.
The dish was mounted on a mast barely 8 feet off the ground and I often wondered if the dish had been roof mounted (30 feet off the ground) if that would have improved the signal but around that time there wasnt much on NSS6 so I never bothered.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
