Default Measat 3 at 91.5 degrees

Decided to dig/find for other Sats and I decided to go below (Limits set at 90E to 175 W) Asiasat 5 at 100 deg E and I found Measat 3 at 91. 5. The Signal is low and capable of Locking DVB S transponder only.
The Trouble is the steerable dish as on Asiasat 5 at 100 deg E scraped just past another dish on the west side a Prodolin 1.8 M for Intelsat 19 Cband so when I go to Measat 3 at 91.5 its goes further west and smack looking from the Feed and part of the Prodelin Dish. Hummmm.

The Question Is does anyone pick up Measat 3 from the East coast of Australia using only a 2.3M Dish. If so which Transponder Mainly the S2 8PSK ones can you get. (Can get the Prodelin Dish Move backwards and out of the way for the Steerable Dish) If it is worth doing.

There are 3 at 91.4/91.5E you should be able to see plenty of the global beam listed ones

Sky racings are fta there, but not a lot else unless you have powervu capabilitys and a 2.3m might be a bit small to get all of the stuff on the global beams

Yes 2.3M to small. Back in the Old days in the other house I had a Paraclipse 4.2M dish and you have plenty of signal for size of that dish but Power vu was Sacred. Nothing it sacred today its all depends how you want to throw money to our hobby.

(Good this morning No Spelling mistakes today. Yesterday it was a Shocking day for spelling and Grammar and everything. I think the Brain slowing down to repair. I go to the Doctors today to tell the Doctors of my Major Problem That I do 70% of the time do the Opposite of what I'm thinking. "EG" I pick my Short up, I look for the front and back and when I put the short on I find them backwards. I do this with 70% of thing in any field IF I DON'T 100% CONCENTRATE. Very annoying including wire the new dish for Asiasat 4 ku. I make the mistake to wire it on the Distribution Box out of the Dish farm. Don't forget I say to use in the Correct hole and I still made the Mistake. Yes this panel in the Dish farm its make it easy to disconnect and reconnect and dish to anywhere after moving the dish. I have holes to in coming cable from the Dish and Outward cables goes to the conduits going to the TV room. )

Thats what I was looking at.

My dish to small and don't want to put bigger than 2.3M so not to attract the attention of the Neighbours.

Yes take you time for the USB TTL how to do for a Brain like mine that scattered.

Hey My Friend. When you use the USB-TTL leads do you Power the BOX on? I would say so YES because the 5Volt lead missing not used on the USB TTL lead.

I have no luck with my 2.7mt to see the BBC package on Measat 3. It tries to lock but no joy, I reckon even a 3.7mt will just get it. I think there is more to that service not being received then signal levels, something else in the data stream. It's a pity as that package was probebly my favourite of all services going around when it was strong on Apstar 7.

I have a 2.4m in Canberra, I get the horizontals ok watching Discovery India HD, History, H2 (History) and RT HD. But the verticals are very "iffy" Sky Racing (3814V) is ok at night but breaks up in the day. Can't lock BBC at all.

Very Interesting you get the Horizontal OK in the Australia Capital. Measat 3 is Vert, and Measat 3A is Horz so the Signal strength must vary from East coast Of Oz. I cannot get anything Horz none whatsoever. But on Measat 3 Vert I can get ONLY QPSK transponder. No S2 8PSK because I suspect they want a little more gain at my end before the BoX's lock on.

Just tuned around and found there are some verticals I get good sigs on 3725V, 4012V, 3880V are a few, just 3814V is marginal on my FreeSat V7 which has an amazing receiver (S_92% Q_55%) Using a Norsat 3120 on Verticals + NJRC NJS8487U on Horizontals feed into Spaun NVF220SR amplifier.

Just a side note - do they broadcast anything on that Ku-band Australia spot beam at the moment?

There is a bit of KU traffic there but by all accounts it's data or non DVB.

I can see some reasonable spikes on my 2.7mt on KU which line up with the services noted on lyngsat but still to low to resolve.

    Default lnb

Have changed and had three Cband lnbs on this sat with 3 metre dish in perth within the last two months. strong.satking.titanium.Dish is motorised, giving me 68.5 to 166deg, I found the best for picking up bbc was the satking one solution lnb, if you have a fixed dish patience is the virtue. The strong lnb was weaker.now running titanium gives a better skew on motorised dish, but can not pick up bbc.The best way i found to set a dish was to take tv outside satbox connect all outside and have fun
