Mate if it's a CVC issue you might have slow speeds for a couple of weeks.
They only purchase more CVC when needed, so they need quite a few customers to complain about speeds.

If your area has just been activated they prob didn't purchase enough CVC for the amount of customers signing up.
Same thing happened in my area when it was first activated........... I call it teething problems.

Although I'm not sure if it's a CVC issue...........
CVC doesn't effect upload speeds so you should still have max upload speed.

Is there any difference in speed during peak and non-peak times?

No its the same all the time and i can understand the cvc issue and download speed its the upload im worried about and my phone. Rsp just send me an email to tell me his working on my case as we speak so here goes i hope. Its a small rsp so the hope they will get enough people in my area is slim but i knew that when i signed up. Even though i should get full speeds cause of my distance and the work i did to the house cabling if the download increases a little and upload is where it should be i'll be happy.

    Thanks for the update.

Those figures are what I would expect.

We all make mistakes. The important thing is that we learn from them and don't come back for a second helping.

Pleased you got it sorted, levend.

What was the issue with the first computer causing the slow data rate?

To be quiet honest i wouldn't have a clue. The only thing that i ever changed on it was using the google dns. Perhaps a windows update caused prior to hooking up to the nbn. I have the msi gaming beast and a rog g51 as my second computer which i only use to watch online movies so not much on it. So when nbn said there is nothing wrong with the line a came up with a brilliant plan to hook up the rog via ethernet and bang found that there was nothing wrong with the net lol.
Sometimes we take things for granded and expect things to work out of the box.
So a simple thing as a factory reset could save a heap of problems and worries.
