Yep... the compatibility issue has been discussed in numerous threads.

A lot of people have been caught with the same issue buying Samsung Galaxy phones, even in Australia, from places such as Kogan/Dick Smith that don't have Australian 4G(X) bands.

Yes, I just upgraded my s7 edge to a Huawei mate 9 Pro. I did the research, it covers all Aussie 2/3/4g bands......
Dual SIM and Super quick charging and double the battery life of the s7.
Some days I get over a hundred calls, texts etc and the galaxy doesn't quite make it...
Only downfall with the Huawei is no inbuilt wireless charging. No doubt a wireless charging case will come out soon.

If anyone wants a good s7 edge or an s6 or s5.....

I just realised this phone has better specs than my office pc....
6 gig ram and 128 memory and way better graphics...
Office pc has 2gig and 128ssd.

Thats always my number one question on any phone I buy.

I no longer own standalone cameras and the phone function is secondary to camera for me.

Samsung, in my opinion, make the best camera phones. I am always having people claim "there is no way you could have taken that on a phone"

The phone feels pretty similar to the s7, although i havent used it much yet.
Its very fast at opening apps etc, wireless ac is better than s7, gps about the same, usb c is good...

    Camera specs:

Camera Primary Dual 20 MP +12 MP, f/2.2, OIS, 2x zoom, Leica optics, phase detection & laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash

Ill get a couple of photos today and upload.

Yes, the s7 camera will be hard to beat.

Comparing is hard as its not "apples for apples"

CAMERA Primary 12 MP, f/1.7, 26mm, phase detection autofocus, OIS, LED flash,
Features 1/2.5" sensor size, 1.4 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, simultaneous 4K video and 9MP image recording, touch focus, face/smile detection, Auto HDR, panorama
    Video 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 720p@240fps, HDR, dual-video rec., check quality
Secondary 5 MP, 1/4.1" sensor size, 1.34 µm pixel size, f/1.7, 22mm, dual video call, Auto HDR
The higher the megapixels doesnt necessarily mean a better camera ...or picture.

For me, the f/1.7 aperture is what would keep me with the S7. The lower the number, the more light it lets in. Phone cameras are notoriously bad in low light, except for recent Samsung and Iphones.

Thats not to say the Chinese arent doing ok , they are just still a bit behind the ball but catching up quickly as they pull Samsung and Apple phones apart.. My Note 5 has f/1.9, here is an example. This was quite a dark day in Hobart, yet the pic came out great. the only thing stopping me upgrading to an S7 is that the Note 5 does 16:9 and I am now used to it (most do 4:3)

Leica optics are apparently a good thing though.

I'm like you andrew, my phone is my camera these days. Been happy with my Google Nexus but was looking at pics from others samsung phones and thought it's time to update.

You miss so much with a standalone camera. You always have a mobile with you, so you dont miss anything.

Unfortunately these days most manufacturers have lost sight of the fact that the primary purpose of a phone is to make and receive calls and messages.
Some of the phone settings are hidden behind layers and layers of menu and can be difficult to find.
It seems the phone is a secondary app these days.
Whilst the phone is the number one reason for the purchase, I too never carry another camera these days.
All of my recent Samsung's have had very good cameras and I'm assuming this one will do as well....

For sure, from what I have seen pic quality is up there and as mentioned, its only low light that could give an issue depending on what you are shooting.

I am the opposite of you in that I buy a camera that can make phone calls Phone would be number one for me if I was you in regards to business. But luckily, you can have a good dose of both.
