How does this box shape up against the U4 Quad Hybrid ?
There is some confusion as these boxes are mostly unbranded on Ebay. There are two brands - namely Acemax and Videostrong, although AFAIK they all look the same.
Acemax is the one that has firmware updates on the above site.

Not sure if dvb-t2 is compatable with dvb-t system we use in Australia.
It does both DVB-T and DVB-T2
Works with our DVB-T here is Australia: have spare one for sale No Aus PSU $100 inc postage.
Having compared the specs of the Acemax and U4 boxes I have chosen the Acemax for the following reasons:
Cortex A53 64-bit processor vs Cortex A7 32-bit processor
2GB RAM vs 1 GB RAM
16 GB ROM vs 8 GB ROM
DVB-S2 tuner with input signal level: -84 dBm to 0 dBm (vs -6dBm5 to -25 dBm)
Android 5.1 vs Android 4.4
Price of $110 vs $148 delivered
I'll do some reviews once the box arrives.

The following video is for the earlier KI plus which has 1 GB RAM and 8GB ROM but otherwise much the same.
Package arrived today, less than 2 weeks after ordering. Better than average from China.
If there is any interest in this box I will progressively post a review.

Tried the DVB-S2 and DVB_T scanning first up. Good news is that all the Pacific Asia satellites are there, and so is the Australia terrestrial scanning.
Here are screens for terrestrial channels:
There is a "DTV" button on the remote which presumably should allow quick switching between DVB-S2 and DVB-T, but it stays with the current selection. Should be an easy fix.
Channel selection is problematic with no sorting function. To find a channel from a long list you have to use the FIND option and enter some key words. Hopefully this will be improved in future updates.
The EPG doesn't work on satellite providers including Foxtel.
There is a Hidden menu for CS and BISS but not Powervu.
Apart from the Sat & Terrestrial TV capability the Android box coupled with 4K and included applications make this a powerful unit.
Online updates are possible.
If anyone has any questions please post here.
Big improvement using third party firmware and P'vu now included.
This box runs much cooler than the U4 Quad, and is faster - amazing !

The box can be booted from SD card with Kodi and LibreElec running TVHeadend. Works a treat !

Here's a link for anyone who buys this box and wants to set it up with LibreElec running off the micro SD card. I've had a lot of fun playing around with this box although the firmware needs fine tuning to get both DVB-S2 and DVB-T running concurrently.
For anyone with technical interest there is an oscam service addon.
The Acemax KII Pro has turned out to be a great little unit. The firmware has now reached a good stage of maturity. There is a choice of the modified 'Malaysk' firmware and the LibreElec Kodi firmware (which runs on an SD card). The latter can run oscam.
These boxes support 4K, and the DVB-S2 and DVB-T tuners are high quality for excellent picture quality. It makes the IQ2/3 look inferior IMHO.
Is this box any good to watch IPTV streaming channels?
It supports both DVB-T and DVB-T2 as per the above posts.
AHHH worked it out and now have oz channels.
all good
