Dakar 2017 - Toby Price injured.
As he was set to win the fourth stage, Toby Price has fallen after 371 km of the special and is now in the care of the medical team, meaning the Dakar is over this year for the title holder!
Toby Price’s Dakar 2017 has ended several kilometres from Tupiza. The winner in 2016 fell heavily and has had to be airlifted by the medical team to hospital with a fractured thigh bone in his left leg. Whatever happens from now on, the Dakar will see a new overall winner crowned in the bike category.
Obviously Price was really pushing in this stage, being 1min35sec ahead at WP10.
Yamaha Rider, Alessandro Botturi, who has fallen 30 kilometres from the finishing line.
The Italian has a slight head injury and bruising to the head, but he is now in the care of the medical team.
What a shame, hope he makes a full recovery.
