Not the worst car I've seen
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

It certainly looks a lot better design wise compared to the latest bogan errr I mean commodore
Holden owners can think what they like, end of the day its a Kia, no ifs or buts........they will be laughed at.
it will take a long time for the big Holden to be wiped out of peoples memories , i dont think they will jump into a Kia right away. Still , id rather a Kia than any cheap small car rubbish made or designed by GM anywhere in the world. all GM seems to do is vomit up another version of an Astra and call it a "new" car. shitboxes.

Some mouth watering pics of the Stinger GT to be seen @

That car is not a replacement for the Commodore but a competitor to the new Commodore which is an Opal - that same base car as the Commodore has always been.
Holden/Kia's New Boss..
Front view is a bit meh but the side and rear view have great lines. Not bad at all and the buggers are usually pretty bulletproof....plus a 7 year warranty.
I'd drive that!
Why don't you guys just buy a Ford?
Don't all shoot me at once, LOL.

I know these first release car show vehicles are probably all hand built but I was impressed with the panel fit on this new Kia.
Everything looks very precise.
My dad was a raging Ford fan but I can remember him saying as we were growing up, "Never buy a brand new Ford, wait and get one thats been in an accident - The panels will all fit better then" ( He was being a bit tongue in cheek but had a valid point.
I guess because I've driven European cars for a while now things like panel fit and build quality are important to me.
We have two Holden Cruz vehicles here at work and obviously build quality and panel fit aren't important to Holden consumers.

I'd own one. Have had a couple of Kias over the years. It might go a long way to replacing the dunnydoor on the road as far as a workhorse is concerned. It still won't convince the Holden/Ford brigade that it is a replacement for the commode, though.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
As I indicated above - this is not a replacement for the Commodore, it would be a competitor to the new Commodore - Kia and General Motors are completely different companies, in fact Kia (which is owned by Hyundai) has had close relationship with Ford as the first Ford Festiva was a Kia.
With production of both the Commodore and Falcon, in addition to models imported by GM and Ford as replacements (Opal Insignia and possibly the Ford Taurus) other companies such as Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota etc stc will obviously import models to fill the new market sector - these vehicles will be competitors to the new Insignia and Taurus not replacements - Kia is currently not even related to Ford or GM.
The new Camry
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"
I bought a new Mazda3 for the partner. We looked at the Kia offerings and they were good but for almost the same price the resale on a Mazda will be so much better no matter how long the warranty.

Odd.
The problem with all the woozy boozy rice burners is reliability and longevity. I've had bad Holdens, bad Fords and bad Ricers. Also good ones too.
That's a nice looking car, but is it going to go up and down the Newel a few times...or across the Nullarbor and back without falling apart. I know it'll probably rip up and down the F5 OK, but what about real Aussie roads over time?
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
