Default Wiegand Keypad that can take heat

    Hi ALL

I've tried a bunch of Wiegand Prox/Keypad readers up here in Alice Springs that fail when they temp goes over 40c outside, these are in direct sunlight only for a few hours per day, afternoon. Sure enough they heat up and lock people out !!

I'm after either something that can take heat or a decorative shield that would cover it. I've searched high and low and found stuff all. SOme readers say +70c but I seriously doubt them.

I really want a keypad so I dont need to carry keys around...I've got an alternative to SMS the door to open but this one I need some help with...

Dont want standalone reader, I have a 4 door controller inside...

    Thankyou

Take a look at the Ness S2 ADVANCED ULTRAPROX KEYPAD. They have an operating range of +60.

We have done an installation where we placed one of these keypads inside a sauna without any problem.

Brotherbear.... did you use it in standalone or connected to an external controller ? I have a chinese version of this one, issue is if you dont program the key into the controller then the thing alarms after a few presentations, I need the remote panel to do the authentication.

I couldnt see in the Ness manual where you turn off the local authentication....

Also my remote controller does the beep and led, you cant do it with this NESS one...

    Thanks for the tip anyway..

I managed to get a HID Prox Pro with keypad reasonably cheap from the US, going to give it a go... its rated at 65c...and IP64 rated, should be ok for a wall
