Any satellite equipment supplier.
Just Google for one.
My preference of brands are Sharp or Strong.
Any brand will work, but it MUST be Ku-Band with a local oscillator (LO) frequency of 10700MHz also sometimes shown as 10.7GHz)
I Google Earthed your location and for some reason misread the Post Code for QUEENSLAND ???? but I see there not a lot around you like Towns to buy bits and pieces nor would I imagine is there anyone who does repairs close by to test the UEC for you.
I noticed in one of your postings that you seem to be easily able to access the LNB should you decide to replace it so I would suggest if thats what you decide to do, in the meantime is to closely inspect the current one, check that the screws holding the saddle bracket are clean and will unscrew easily.
Also CAREFULLY note the angle the LNB is mounted and what direction the cable points down, say like 5 o'clock if you imagine the dish face is a clock with the very top at NOON.
This is the SKEW, a very important setting required.
You may be able to see on the saddle bracket and the LNB some markings, if their legible, note these down before undoing the bracket and try to put the new LNB in the same position.
Avoid causing any pressure on the dish or the LNB arm and dont undo anything else except the screws holding the saddle bracket down.
I am not sure what type of LNB you have presently, either a single or Dual out put but with MTV's advise, I would suggest getting a Dual now in case VAST ever changes anything.
Also consider running the extra cable now even if it is rolled up and stowed under cover for 'RON'.
If you already had a Dual installed and suitably terminated, as they are 2 separate devises in the one case, all you needed to do is change the cable over from one to the other.
Its just SO easy to be wise AFTER the event.......
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Any update, boyd?
