Default Nokia 106 has issue with one contact

Just recently I noticed that out of all the contacts on my phone, one of them won't show the name when I get an SMS from them - it just shows the number.
I have the contact stored in my contacts list, the number matches - I used the number from the SMS to 'save' the contact.
Yet it still won't show the name when I get a message.
I have tried deleting the contact, then re-saving - same problem.
Tried doing a hard reset on the phone, no change.
All other contacts are fine, the names show up when I get a message.
It's just ONE that refuses to play ball.
I'm wondering if somehow there is corrupt data on the SIM (which is where all my contacts are stored)?

    Any ideas?

    Hi Studio1

Is there a another number with the same last 5 or 6 digits?

Had issues many years ago with my mobile number having the same last 6 digits as the wife's mobile and the home number all been the same some phones would pick random names to display.

I was told by a Optus tech back the phones only looked at the last few digit for caller name lookup.

    Just a thought.

double check you havent got the same number saved twice in the phone, either on the device and doubled up on the sim etc.
easiest way to do it is cycle through the entire contacts list, if its been stored twice but without the alpha tag attached to it, it will be at the bottom of the list, had a similar issue with my 6120C and it gave me the sh!ts until i found out when i have to dial a mate starting with Z, and lo and behold, there was the double up below his

Thanks guys. I hadn't noticed it, but for some odd reason, the number had become stored on its own - without any name attached.
Being right at the end of the contacts list I didn't see it. After deleting it, everything returned to normal.

    Cool

Good to see you got it sorted.

I will have to store that in the memory bank about the number only been stored as I have been asked by customers with the same issue on hands free kits doing the same.

It also seems to be people with large phone books.

Next time i will scroll to the end of the phone book and look there.
