    Default Corrupted Navigation SD Card

    Hi All

I have a sd card from a customers navigation system that has become corrupted. The suspected cause is removal of the card while the unit is on.I spoke to the manufactures service center and have been told that the best course of action is to replace the card. Before the customer lashes out $350 approx for a new card and then 129usd to bring the maps up to date I would like to try and restore the card. There is no backup of the card available due to the last backup was 4 or more years ago and the computer it’s on has long gone. Any suggestions as to a good piece of software to try.

    Navigation Folder

    Cheers

I have restored files from a corrupted SD card but it was a few years ago, consequently I cannot remember the exact procedure I used, but I recall that at least two different procedures worked.

I suggest you do what I did at the time (which allowed me to accomplish my objective successfully).

Use a SEARCH engine with search criteria something like "restore data from corrupted SD card", thus....

It worked for me...and you have absolutely nothing to lose.

A program with a name like "Photorec" rings a bell (the first hit on the link I gave you (above)).

Thanks for you advice guys I have tried some recovery programs although the file I relay need is the license file that's locked to the sd cards serial number has not shown up if i had the license file all the other files could be replaced with other files from another card.

I will give philquad's prg ago tomorrow and then if no good then i will call time on it

If it was my unit or a good friends I would have a backup from when I have done map updates but not so in this case and if it was mine I might be tempted to spend time trying to run a copied version as well.

I would also suggest you try Pandora Recovery The software helped me get deleted and formatted files from old drive and once from SD card.
