The media itself doesn't lie.
They only report the lies, bent truth (or truth which ever way you would like to believe) from others, with Trump trumping them all.
If the news media had to verify first that every story was actually true we would hardly have any news.
...and then we also have religions.
Truth has become more of a belief thing.

Whilst I took this with the usual "grain of salt", I thought is was a good idea, and for our politicians to pay for their excesses.
No mention of it in all those 'fake news' newspapers and TV networks.
I think it's time to forget about the low salt diet. LOL
Maybe technically no, but they BEND the truth to suit their own biases on a regular basis as you well know, or omit some news altogether. That could be considered by some (me for one) as effectively lying...
The ABC, Fairfax, and News Ltd do it all the time....which is why I try multiple outlets in an effort to ascertain the truth which is difficult sometimes.
There was a classic case just yesterday with the polls for the Werribee area showing an early 28% swing against the state ALP over the youth prison lumped there with zero consultation. NO mention on the ABC, NO mention by Fairfax. This is the safe seat of Treasurer Tim Pallas...no joy really for the Coalition either as One Nation appears to be the main beneficiary, further proof of the erosion of faith in the major parties. People are sick and tired of being taken for granted by these slugs.

I saw a show one time when one President was handing over to another and he was warning the incoming President that certain costs were to be paid by the President.
I cant remember now but one cost had to do with meals I think.
All State functions such as Banquets etc were paid by the public purse but private/family functions were not.
Like I think a cook and staff would be covered but if you want a Chef at a higher rate, then you pay the difference between the 2.
As has been found here in recent times with claims made by Politicians for certain expenses (Bishop and the Helicopter) some skirt the rules when doing so and no doubt the Obama's have done the same and may have overstepped the line but just because 'Our Donald' is reportedly 'Sending Michelle and Invoice' I would take both the story and the idea of actually doing so with a grain of salt.
