It was suggested i should get it correctly calibrated but to get it running properly i have to disconnect the battery which clears all codes, so back in square one. Would it be any advantage to take it to an auto elect or a tuning place, hopefully not Autotune as i don't trust them (or the owner)? Thanks in anticipation
Seriously mate find someone who has a Tech2 scan tool, otherwise your going to end up burning money on misdiagnoses

Check for vacuum leaks and check the throttle body if the plate is sticking.

My tech2 reads all stored info from the ECU regardless if the faults have been cleared, they are never deleted

That all depends on if you clear the "current" codes, or clear the "history" codes.
Clear the history codes and see how you go reading them again.

To clear the warnings etc to get the car mobile, we were disconnecting the battery which was not leaving any history!
BUT, too all that helped, after changing the maf sensor, the car running like sh1t for 2 weeks. Disconnected the air supply tube again, cleaned around the butterfly and gave it a little oil as instructed, went to replace the air tube and noted the rubber flange creased, put a little Pet jelly on the flange and slipped it back on and tightened. Car has been going for about 7 days and he is in Bendigo today and not a warning signal of any kind
Would like to thank every one, just be patient when dealing with fools

Disconnecting the battery won't clear history DTCs. What are you using to read history DTCs ??

Just when you thought it was safe to go outside!!!
Whitey, apologies just saw your response, i was hoping this topic was closed, ELM 327 mini

The latest, vehicle has been running well up until yesterday when warning number PO121 appeared (throttle body related) removed air boot to check butterfly, first thing i noticed was clean oil deposit on bottom of unit, cleaned butterfly again and circumference. Reset battery and appears to be running smoothly again with no further warning signs. Would i be right to assume oil is interfering with the diagnosis unit. Checked the electrical connections at same time. Bugs me as i think the answer is simple and inexpensive?

Unit running fine until an oil change, now get a P0522 warning, related to oil pressure after an oil change. Recommended oil is 10/30, garage has put in 10/50 penrite, would that be enough to set off the warning light?

Incompetent fools, yes it will, take it back to them and demand they change filter and use the correct grade of oil

No not normally but anythings possible more than likely the oil pressure switch has died (not uncommon on VZ-VE 6cyl after a oil change ) 10W50 is a little thick but should not pose a oil pressure problem.
