Default Wiring new Slimline Siren/Strobe Combo

    Hi everyone,

I've recently had my house renovated and the existing bell box was removed / misplaced / lost. I have purchased a new Slimline Siren/Strobe combo as a replacement, however there seem to be more inputs on this siren than the previous. My existing alarm system is a Bosch 6000 solution.

The siren/strobe has the following inputs:
    Siren +
    Siren -
    Strobe +
    Strobe -
    LED +
    LED -
    Tamper +
    Tamper -
    EOL

The outputs on the control board are:
    C+
    1 (Siren)
    2 (Strobe)
    3 (Internal Piezo)
    4 (Blank)

From what I can see of the existing siren was setup with the following connections:
    Siren + wired to C+
Siren - wired to Tamper +
    Strobe +wired to C+
Strobe - wired to output 2
Tamper - wired to output 1

Now I have the following questions:

Does the above wiring look correct?

Do I need to connect the LED or EOL input on the siren back to the control board? If so please provide some advise?

    Thanks in advanced.

    Dean

    Just some advice,
Your old bell box was most likely a horn speaker. Your new slimline unit will be a 12v siren. So will need different connection and/or 3k3 to prevent siren fault trouble.
You connection for other terminations will be based on what cable you have existing, 6 core cable?

Thanks for the reply, yes the old bell box was a horn so I have wired a 3k3 resistor across the new piezo. Also the existing cable is 6 core, so I have 2 left over wires. Will the new siren work without wiring up LED and EOL? What are these inputs for?

LED -+ is the connection for the little red LED on the PCB. You don't have to worry about connecting that to the alarm panel unles you're connecting it to an output an mapping that to a latching output when ARMED, so you can see that the house is armed when you look at the siren box.
Some people have it connected to perminant power to show the alarm system is on. (Just another deterant).

You can wire the siren tamper switch through the 3k3 resistor and terminate that in parralell with the siren, so it'll bring up an alarm when the box is tampered.
