    Default loosing contacts on iphone

I owned a iphone5 and it started loosing my contacts, they just vanished, so had to add all my contacts back in manually, it done this twice, so I assumed it was a phone issue, so I then purchased a as new iphone 6+, had all my contacts in place, then this morning I went to call my wife and nearly all my contacts were gone again, I am at a loss as to whats going on and why the contacts are being deleted, I dont use icloud or that crap, I could search google but thought i'd ask here first

Not much help Rick, but the old iPhone 3GS i have does that with Photos
Then they might turn up again after power cycling a few times.

    Very strange indeed.
Hope you get the contacts sorted.

Are they synced to an email account?
(most people do that these days)

That is my first thought. Is your phone getting synced with iTunes on a desktop PC and iTunes is configured to sync contacts with Outlook (or something like that)?

Which iOS is the iPhone running Rick?
Have you upgraded the iOS recently perhaps?

Tried a "Forced Restart" of your iPhone?

Are you using iHate, err, iTunes? I'm wondering if that has decided what you don't need.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
