    Default Looking for 9" CRT

    Hi All,

Looking for period correct 9" crt screen for my 1978 computer. At the time the popular choice was the Sanyo VM4209 however I've had no success finding one.

I believe these style of screens where also used in the security industry which is why I am trying here.

    Cheers!

There must be dozens of them buried in just about every landfill site in OZ as they went 'IN' as soon as the larger and cheaper models appeared on the market but they too were soon to follow when the 'Flat Screens' became the monitor of choice.
Depending where you live, have you tried the local tip to see if they have a 'reclamation' site for such items?
Also your facing a problem that most places like St Vinnies/Salvation Army/Smith Family etc wont handle these items due to the law requiring them to be tested before sale which they arent worth doing.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

I think the old Apple IIc monitor (green screen) and Macintosh 128k/512k/Plus/Classic/Classic II/SE/SE-30 (black and white) all used a 9" CRT. The Plus and the Classic are not particularly rare or collectible and it should be pretty easy to find one with a good CRT for cheap or given away. Just need an extra long torx 15 driver to get the lid off.

    Thanks for the suggestions...

I've been looking for awhile and tried most places... Unfortunately I think you are right about most going to land fill ... My last hope is a fellow hoarder that might be holding on to some!
